In 2013, the pediatric unit moved into a new building with premium, cozy, modern design concept, where fewer patients share a room for better privacy and comfort. However, this had introduced new challenges for managing alarms, as monitors are placed inside the patients’ rooms. About the Speaker:
Ioannis Syntychakis has an Professional Doctorate degree in Engineering in Clinical Informatics from the Eindhoven University. He is working as a Clinical Engineer in Isala Hospital in the Netherlands, responsible for the safe use of the medical equipment, particularly with regard to medical equipment connected to the IT network. He was the project lead implementing the solution for the alarm management challenges of the hospital’s paediatric unit
