Mr. Liang Minghui, MD

Mr Liang Minghui is currently the Chair of National Institute of Hospital Administration, Ministry of Health, China. Born in Shandong Province, Mr. Liang graduated from School of Public Health, Beijing Medical University and obtained the degree of MS. Mr. Liang holds lots of experience in the realm of Health IT in China, he has been involved in many studies of the healthcare scene. His work includes, but is not limited to: studies on a comprehensive hospital information system, development of an information base of 500 large scale hospitals in China, reformation of leadership in city-level hospitals in China and the development of standards for basic data collection in Chinese hospitals.

Apart from his current appointment, Mr. Liang has also served as the Secretary General, Committee of Healthcare Service Standards at the Ministry of Health; Executive Director and Deputy Secretary General, Chinese Hospital Association; Vice Director, Information Management Committee of Chinese Hospital Association; Vice Director, Information Standard Committee of Chinese Information College ; and Chief, Editing Board of China Digital Hospital .


 

Prof. Ronggui Cao

Prof. Ronggui Cao, a graduate of Beijing Medical College in 1964, is the President of the Chinese Hospital Association. He also serves as the President of The Chinese Endemic Disease Association and is a Member of Advisory Committee of Joint Commission International (JCI) Asia-Pacific Region. Prof. Cao has made many valuable contributions towards driving the development and policy research of the Chinese medical and healthcare management systems in China.

Prof. Cao has long been engaged in the management of medical care and has published many articles about hospital management, among them are editorials such as "Hospital Management", "New Hospital Management", "Historical Research of Ministry of Health", "Clinic Expo Chinese Hospital", to name a few. In recent years Prof. Cao has also published many influential articles such as "30 Years of Chinese Hospital Reform - the Historical Process, the Main Achievements and Challenges", "Public Hospitals Accomplishment in Deepening Medical Reform", "Corporate Hospitals are the Effective Strength of Deepening Medical Reform" and many more.

Apart from his professional accomplishments, Prof. Cao also serves as the Director of the editorial committee of a number of industry publications including "Chinese Hospital", "Chinese Hospital President" and "Chinese Digital Medicine".


Robert M. Kolodner, MD

Robert M. Kolodner, MD led the United States eHealth initiative from 2006 to April 2009 as the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (IT), advancing person-centered, interoperable health IT solutions.

Previously, he was the key clinical champion for VistA - the world's most successful large scale Electronic Health Record implementation. Dr. Kolodner graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College, received his medical degree from Yale University, and is board certification in psychiatry.


Professor Steven Boyages

Professor Steven Boyages is currently the Chief Executive of the Sydney West Area Health Service (SWAHS) and has professorial appointments to the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney.

Steven's current interests are varied and include the application of health technology to health care delivery, in particular the development of IT applications that add value to the enterprise, to the community and to the patient. Steven’s teams have developed sophisticated web based business information tools that allow real time enterprise monitoring. In addition, Steven has pioneered innovative models of organizational design, and re-engineered clinical models of car. Most importantly his chief interest is providing the best possible care to patients, their carers and to the communities he serves.

Steven is a unique hybrid of clinician manager who is an endocrinologist. He was previously the Director of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Westmead Hospital from 1990 to 1999. In that role his major achievements were to define the pathophysiology of thyroid hormone deficiency on brain development secondary to iodine deficiency; to develop prevention strategies in iodine deficient communities in China, India, Indonesia and Northern Italy; to define the impact of Growth Hormone excess and deficiency in adults and to develop innovative population health models of care for people with diabetes. Steven continues an active research career in a range of domains, but mostly in the pursuit of better models of chronic disease prevention and management.
