The HIMSS AsiaPac 2009 Conference and Exhibition offers two purposefully developed, full-day symposia and one regionally targeted workshop to provide clinicians, care providers, government personnel and leaders the opportunity to hear from experts in their fields on the most prominent issues in healthcare in the Asia Pacific Region today.
Physicians’ & IT Leadership Symposium
The Physicians’ & IT Leadership Symposium will focus on solution-driven approaches, healthcare IT issues, and IT as a foundation for innovation, integration and expansion of care delivery. It will encompass a broad range of topics from implementation strategies within in the context of organisational change to the use of clinical data and systems to ensure improved decision-making, and overall processes and workflow.
Nursing Informatics Symposium
The Nursing Informatics Symposium provides an opportunity for nurses, clinicians and managers to discuss key issues on how to effectively integrate IT tools to improve processes and workflow at the point of care, and approaches for enhancing patient care and quality outcomes.
The 1-day symposium will see discussions on topics such as Nursing Documentation, Managing Medication Administration and Recording, and Patient Tracking, and provide a rich learning platform about the current and future impact on patient safety, culture and processes.
The symposium, which includes a hospital tour, also features case studies from Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
Developing Countries Workshop
Created specifically for providers, leaders and government officials from emerging nations, the Developing Countries Workshop discusses issues on Primary Healthcare and provides useful insights on Capacity Building towards healthcare IT implementation. Topics discussed will include human resource development, education and training, which are crucial to its successful implementation.
The workshop also provides an environment of knowledge-sharing through round-table discussions on topics such as Policy Development and Legal Framework, Foreign Aid and Private Industry Support and The New Digital Divide.
