International Healthcare Leaders Announced as Keynote Speakers

Opening Address

Dr. Ko Wing-man   Dr. Ko Wing-man

Dr Ko Wing-man is a specialist in orthopaedic surgery by profession. He was appointed Secretary for Food and Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government on 1 July 2012.

In 1990, Dr Ko joined the Hospital Authority (HA), Hong Kong, and was responsible for coordinating the operational management of services for hospitals under the HA. In late 2004, Dr Ko left the HA and subsequently took up clinical work again, and has held the posts of Chairman of the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society, Director of the Hong Kong Red Cross and Chairman of its Health & Care Service Management Committee. In the aftermath of the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquakes in 2008, he has been actively involved in the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the area. Dr Ko was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2008 for his remarkable contributions.

Based in Toronto, Dr. Gordon is a result driven business leader with senior management, business development and service delivery experience. Dan has extensive knowledge and expertise in the areas of Health Information Technology, eHealth adoption, Telehealth, Health Services planning and Business Intelligence. Dan has led numerous assignments for global clients and is an insightful team player and catalyst for effective business renewal.

C. Martin Harris, M.D., is a staff member in the Department of General Internal Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, where he also is the Chief Information Officer and Chairman of the Information Technology Division. Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Harris' clinical interests include evaluating and managing the critically ill patient during the pre-operative period.

A frequent presenter at national meetings on health care and technology, Dr. Harris is on the advisory board of the Association of American Medical Colleges' Better Health 2010 committee and is a judge for the case studies in medicine for The Computerworld Smithsonian Honors Program. He also is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
